Gugu Mbatha Raw

Gugu Mbatha-Raw is an award-winning actor of the stage and screen. She is known for her breakout role in the period drama BELLE (2013), and subsequent film roles including: LARRY CROWNE (2011), BEYOND THE LIGHTS (2014), CONCUSSION (2015), MISS SLOANE (2016), BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (2017), A WRINKLE IN TIME (2018), CLOVERFIELD PARADOX (2018), MISBEHAVIOUR (2020), SUMMERLAND (2020) and LIFT (2023).

For television, Gugu starred in BLACK MIRROR, the 2016 Prime Time Emmy award winning episode SAN JUNIPERO; Apple TV’s award-winning drama series MORNING SHOW (2019); Apple TV+’s SURFACE, which she also exec produces with Reece Witherspoon. Gugu recently led THE WAR BETWEEN THE LAND AND THE SEA, a Doctor Who series for BBC and Disney+.

Gugu has a number of projects on the horizon, including FUZE, a heist thriller also starring Theo James, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Sam Worthington, which had its world premiere at TIFF.

SheShe recently wrapped the Sky TV limited series INHERITANCE, and will lead opposite Richard Madden in Netflix series TRINITY.

Gugu was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 Birthday Honours for services to drama.
