Helen Mackay
Helen Mackay was educated in New York and moved to Paris after her marriage to Archibald Mackay, spending almost fifty years there. She was fluent in both French and Italian, writing mainly in French. ‘Train’ appeared in a collection entitled London: One November published during the First World War. She was honoured by the French for her service in both World War I and II. She was widowed in 1941 and died in New York on May 18th, 1961.
