“Great Poetry Read by Great Actors”

Following the sell-out success of 2016’s Josephine Hart Poetry Hour, the Josephine Hart Poetry Foundation returns to the Abbey Stage to celebrate the wonderful poetry of Yeats’ friend and ardent admirer W.H. Auden.

The programme will include Auden’s much acclaimed masterpiece, ‘In Memory of W.B. Yeats,’ and some of the most beautiful love poetry ever written.

Auden passionately believed ‘No poem which is not better read aloud is good poetry’ and wrote ‘All I have is a voice / To undo the folded lie.’

In this special evening a selection of Auden’s work, alongside Josephine Hart’s hugely admired introductions, will be performed by celebrated actors who will be announced shortly.

Produced and Directed by Shevaun Wilder for The Josephine Hart Poetry Foundation.
