Alan Cox

Alan Cox played major roles at the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company in ‘The Seagull’, ‘An Enemy of the People’, ‘The Winter’s Tale’, and ‘in Earthly Paradise’ at the Almeida.
His film credits include ‘Young Sherlock Holmes’ (as Dr Watson), ‘An Awfully Big Adventure’, ‘Mrs Dalloway’, ‘The Auteur Theory’, and ‘Ladies in Lavender’.
His television credits include ‘Adam Bede’, ‘The Thin Blue Line’ and ‘A Voyage Round My Father’. As a theatre director he has worked on 17th-century classics by Beaumont and Fletcher, and Ben Jonson, to plays by Pinter and Orton.
