Edward Fox
Edward Fox, a graduate of RADA, has won four coveted BAFTA awards. His Most Promising Newcomer was followed by Best Supporting Actor Awards in ‘The Go-Between’ in 1972, ‘A Bridge Too Far’ in 1978, ‘Edward and Mrs Simpson’ in 1979, and in 1983 he was again nominated for ‘Gandhi’. His chilling lead performance in ‘The Day of the Jackal’ brought worldwide fame. A consummate theatre actor, he starred in the legendary 1968 production of T.S. Eliot’s ‘The Cocktail Party’ and garnered further acclaim in Simon Gray’s ‘Quartermaine’s Terms’ in 1981, ‘The Old Masters’ in 2005 and in Shaw’s ‘You Never Can Tell’ In 2006. For the 2018 Classic Wilde Season, he was cast alongside his son, Freddie Fox, in a production of ‘An Ideal Husband’. Edward Fox was awarded an OBE in 2003 for his services to film and theatre.
