Grey Gowrie

1939-2021

Grey Gowrie, Lord Gowrie, was born in Dublin, and continued to live partly in Ireland until the mid-1980s. He is the Founder of the British Friends of the National Gallery of Ireland. A published poet, he was an assistant to Robert Lowell in his youth. He also lectured in English and American literature at Harvard University and UCL.
