Lisa Dwan
Lisa Dwan is an Irish actress, from Coosan, Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland. Originally wanting to be a ballet dancer, when Dwan was 12 she was chosen to dance with Rudolf Nureyev in the Ballet San Jose’s production of ‘CoppĂ©lia’. After winning a scholarship to attend the Dorothy Stevens School of Ballet in Leeds, Dwan left school at 14.
Her acting career began with the role of Agnes in an adaptation of ‘Oliver Twist’, co-starring Elijah Wood and Richard Dreyfuss. Since then, she has played the role of Princess Deirdre in Saban’s ‘The Mystic Knight of the Wind’, with other television credits including, ‘The Big Bow Wow’, ‘Fair City’ and ‘Rock Rivals’. In 2005, Dwan performed Samuel Beckett’s ‘Not I’ in the Battersea Arts Centre, London. She then performed the piece again in 2009 for London’s Southbank Centre. On Broadway, Dwan has recited a previously unpublished piece by Seamus Heaney.
