Sara Teasdale

Sara Teasdale (1884–1933) was an American lyric poet known for her clear, melodic verse that often explored themes of love, nature, and inner longing. Her poetry is celebrated for its emotional sensitivity and simplicity, capturing deep feelings with graceful precision. Teasdale gained wide recognition with her 1917 collection Love Songs, which earned her the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1918.

Some of her most famous poems, like ‘There Will Come Soft Rains’ and ‘I Shall Not Care’, reflect her delicate, contemplative style, blending themes of personal melancholy with an appreciation for beauty. Her work often conveyed the complexities of love and loss, as well as the passage of time.
