Elizabeth Bishop

1911-1979

Elizabeth Bishop was born in Massachusetts in 1911. Her four short collections, North and South (1946), A Cold Spring (1955), Questions of Travel (1965) and Geography III (1976), won many literary awards including the National Book Critics Circle Award, the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize.
