Christina Rossetti
1830-1894
Christina Georgina Rossetti was born in London in 1830. Her masterpiece collection, Goblin Market and Other Poems appeared in 1862 and won her instant acclaim. The Prince’s Progress and other poems followed in 1866 and Sing-Song: a nursery rhyme book in 1872. Her many religious poems, ‘Devotional Pieces’, added to her huge popularity.
