Marianne Moore

1887-1972

Born in 1887 in Kirkwood, Missouri, Marianne Craig Moore was a poet, essayist and translator. Her Selected Poems (1935) was published with an introduction by T. S. Eliot. She won both the Gold Medal for Poetry from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and the Pulitzer Prize.
