Rudyard Kipling
1865-1936
Poet, novelist and short story writer, Rudyard Kipling was born of English parents in Bombay in 1865. His Departmental Ditties (1886) and Barrack-Room Ballads (1892) brought him world-wide fame. He won the Nobel Prize in 1907, the first Englishman to be so honoured.
